Never could I have imagined that I would:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. listen to someone speak about hugging<\/li>\n
  2. \n

    learn how to give the “right” kind of hug<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. appreciate that there is even a “right” way of doing it<\/li>\n
  4. \n

    actually do it<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  5. \n

    tell others about it<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  6. \n

    insist that they do it<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  7. \n

    write a blog post about it.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    But here I am, having fulfilled every one of those.<\/p>\n

    The story begins last month, when I had the joy, privilege, and honor of being among\u00a0150 people to attend HATCH, described as a “think tank meets summer camp”. Held in the mountainous grandeur of Big Sky, Montana, HATCH was the most emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually engaging four days I’ve experienced in my life. I still haven’t been able to find the words to describe it.<\/p>\n

    Back to hugs.<\/p>\n

    As part of their thoughtfully planned yet nimble agenda, HATCH had many short talks on a variety of topics: inspiring\u00a0stories and journeys, world-changing projects and pursuits, and\u00a0personal experiences and\u00a0passions. One in particular stood out to me, and that was by a thirty-something man\u00a0who delivered a spirited, experiential talk on how to give a hug. Yes, how to give a hug.<\/p>\n

    In summary, it goes like this:<\/p>\n
